MARSHALL – The Lee P. Brown Criminal Justice Institute will present “A Conversation with Ms. Geneva Reed-Veal, The Other Side of Justice” on Thursday, April 14 at 11 a.m. in the Julius S. Scott Sr. Chapel on campus. The program is being presented as part of Criminal Justice Week activities.
Ms. Geneva Reed-Veal will share reflections regarding the death of her daughter, Sandra Bland. Ms. Bland died last year while in custody at the Waller County Jail in Hempstead, Texas. The criminal justice institute is sponsoring the program with Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society, the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, and the National Black Law Students Association.
