Pineywoods News is alive and well and the future is bright!
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Tony Juays. Let me give you a brief history of the site, tell you a little about myself and give you my vision for the future of the site.
Becky Holland and myself launched this site at the end of March 2016. Initially I was quite involved with maintaining the site and posting and updating posts. Beginning of May I decided to take a step back from being so involved and handed the reigns to Becky and told her that she could run the site as she saw fit and retain 100% of any income derived from the site. Subsequently Becky has found an editorial position outside of Marshall which meant she could no longer be involved with the site. The initial handover period for the site was going to be in September but this was moved forward to this past Sunday. The site is now my soul responsibility. I am grateful for what Becky has done with the site while she has had custodianship and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. While I definitely had plans for the site I was only planning to implement them (or need to implement them) in September, hence the sudden change over has caught me off guard and will try to speed up the changes with your help.
A little about me, I have been in Marshall, TX for 11 years and do not planning on moving anywhere soon. My wife, Melanie, and I have been married for 28 years (Sept 3rd), we have 2 children, our son Gareth is a firefighter in Longview and our daughter is the manager at a SportClips in Longview. I am a conservative Christian and believe that the Word of God has final authority. My desire is that this website reflects those values and beliefs. In terms of Marshall, I support any effort to move Marshall forward. I support the current City Commissioners under the leadership of Eric Neal, I support the Marshall Police Force under the leadership of Chief Eddie Campa, I support the MISD Board of Trustees and their effort to build a better future for the children of our town. Again I hope the “flavor” of the site reflects that support.
