WBT’s Evelyn West named Patterson MISD Teacher of the Week

Evelyn West, fifth grade teacher at William B. Travis Elementary, has been named the Patterson Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and Patterson Toyota of Marshall MISD Teacher of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-23.
Ms. Winkley was surprised last Friday morning by Wendell Parker, Kyeandre Abara and Kristin Skinner of Patterson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, along with WBT assistant principal, Zach Venable.
“Ms. West is dedicated and constantly seeking new ways to grow and improve her classroom,” said WBT principal, Loyed Jones. “She works collaboratively with her team, instructional coaches, and with administrators to help her students grow and improve as well. Regardless of the circumstance, she can always find a joyful view.”
For being selected as Teacher of the Week in MISD, Ms. West received a gift check from Patterson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Toyota as well as a certificate of recognition and balloons.
Patterson has sponsored the weekly MISD Teacher of the Week program since the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year. Campus principals have the opportunity to nominate a deserving teacher from their campus on a rotating basis throughout the year. The nominee is then met on a morning during the week with a surprise visit from Patterson representatives.
