US 59 to be Resurface in Marshall

A section of US 59 in Marshall will receive a new riding surface this spring according to plans approved in January by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
“We will be resurfacing a 2.2-mile section of the highway from SH 43 South (Pinecrest Drive) to I-20” said Ray Brady, area engineer for TxDOT in Marshall.
Madden Contracting Company of Minden, La., was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $2.4 million.
Work on the project should begin in April and take about three months to complete, Brady said.
