MPD and M.A.V. join forces for community meeting

The Marshall Police Department as part of the MPD’s No Colors No Labels Initiative and M.A.V. (Marshall Against Violence) are joining forces to host a community event. The event will be held on Wednesday July 27th 2016 at 6pm in the Peoples Legacy Annex building located at 500 Park School St. Marshall, TX. With the recent events in Dallas and Baton Rouge this meeting is being held to try and reach out to our community.

Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa and several Officers will be in attendance as well as MPD retired Officer Scott Beck. Citizens will be able to participate in live scenarios involving police contact such as traffic stops as well as one on one contact. Officers will explain the Do’s and Don’ts during police encounters. This event will open dialogue with the community about what their expectations of us as an officer are and what we as Officers expect from the community as a whole.

Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa stated “We are hoping that this meeting will change the mindset on how police are viewed. A community should never fear its police officers who were sworn to protect them. We want to see a community that lifts its police officers instead of tearing them down based on preconceived judgements.”
