Kandie wins Red River Athletic Conference Runner of the Week

With his first-place finish in College Division II at the Ken Garland Invitational, Wiley College men’s cross country runner Laban Kandie wins Red River Athletic Conference Runner of the Week.

Kandie finished the four-mile race in Denton, Texas, Saturday in 20:32.7 (5.08 mile pace), which was 43 seconds faster than the second-place time. This was Kandie’s second top-five finish. He finished third at the Patriot Invite in Mansfield, Texas, on September 3.

The freshman from Kenya is the second Wildcat to earn Runner of the Week. Marbeq Edgar won last week with his victory in the Braveheart Invitational.
