Flock of flamingos invades Marshall

MARSHALL – There is a flock of flamingos invading Marshall, and it is all for a good cause – or so says Juli Jameson, leader of Girl Scout Troop 7143. Marshallites can purchase 20-30 flamingos for just $10 to be placed on a friend’s lawn.
Saturday morning, the flamingos took over the front lawn of the City of Marshall Library.
The flamingos, Jameson said, “will roost in someone’s yard for three to five days unless the person with the yard would like to have the flock “shooed” to someone else’s yard.” The cost to ‘s
hoo’ the flock is $15.
Monies raised from the fundraising project will go towards, “summer programs for the troop,” she said.
“ And we chose flamingos because they are summery,” Jameson said, “ and showy and kitschy.”
