Marshall Police Departments Citizens Police Academy- 2nd Session


Inaugural class The Marshall Police Department is seeking participants for the Citizens Police Academy. As the Department strives for transparency in its operations, the Marshall Police Department Citizens Police Academy provides a hands-on opportunity to educate the citizens of the city of Marshall on the operations of the Department while obtaining valuable feedback from citizens to enhance police and community relations.

The Marshall Police Department Citizens Police Academy will hold its second session on July 5th 7th, 11th, 13th and 15th from the hours of 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The training will consist of:

  • Agency Tour
  • Overview of the Police Profession and Criminal Justice System
  • Emergency Management and Communications
  • Patrol Operations/Equipment Demonstrations
  • Traffic Enforcement/DWI Enforcement
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Criminal Investigations
  • K-9 Demonstrations
  • Arrest Procedures
  • Graduation

 

There will also be a ride-a-long portion scheduled for two hours per student. Classes will be held at the Marshall Police Department located at 2101 East End Blvd. North Marshall, TX 75670. Citizens will be required to submit an application to enroll in the Marshall Police Department Citizens Police Academy. Citizens can download an application by visiting www.marshallpd.com and clicking the link labeled “citizens police academy”. After downloading and completing the application, it must be emailed to [email protected] or you can drop them off at the Marshall Police Department. All applications must be submitted by June 23rd , 2016 at 5 pm. The Marshall Police Department Citizens Police Academy will be limited to 20 citizens per academy class.
