The 2018 Wiley College baseball team increased its depth in the middle infield and pitching by signing Overton High School graduate Bailey Martin Tuesday in Alumni Gymnasium.
Martin played second base and pitcher for Overton High School and helped them to an undefeated Class 2A District 19 season. Overton advanced to the Class 2A Regional Semifinals. Martin said he is excited about playing college baseball. The Wildcats lost four pitchers from last season and senior shortstop Trevor Spear. Head coach Kendrick Biggs thinks Martin will be a solid addition. “He is strong on the mound,” Biggs said. “He doesn’t get rattled and competes. He has a good arm and plays good defense.” Wiley College will have some practices in the fall. The 2018 season will begin in February.
