
The Marshall Police Department is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a female pedestrian.
The Marshall Police Department is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a female pedestrian. On Thursday, November 24, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to FM 31 near Elysian Fields Avenue. Preliminary reports suggest a motorist was traveling southbound on FM 31 and struck a woman who was crossing the road. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification. Speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash and charges are not expected to be filed against the driver.
Chief of Police Jesus “Eddie” Campa stated, “This appears to be a tragic accident and our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected. We strongly encourage pedestrians to wear bright or reflective clothing when traveling after dark and urge motorists to remain alert when driving. Keeping our community safe is our top priority.”
