Jesus “Eddie” Campa has tendered his resignation as the Chief of Police for the City of Marshall effective June 23, 2017.

Chief Campa was appointed Chief in August, 2014 after a lengthy law enforcement career with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

While Chief Jesus Eddie Campa’s employment agreement requires that he give sixty (60) days written notice, the City may, at its sole discretion, accept his resignation immediately. Chief Campa’s final day of employment will be April 26, 2017.

In his resignation letter Chief Campa states “While there is no right moment to leave an organization you have such respect and admiration for, there is a right time, and I believe, after discussing with my family, the time is now. At this point, I earnestly believe that I have accomplished all that I can do.”

City Manager Lisa Agnor states, “I appreciate Chief Campa’s hard work for the Marshall Police Department and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Agnor has not outlined a specific timeline for replacement and states, “We have great people in the department who can ensure that the citizens and businesses of Marshall continue to receive the highest level of public safety. I will work diligently to find a leader who can continue to work with our department and our community.”
