Trammel’s Trace is subject of book talk
The Harrison County Historical Museum is hosting a book talk featuring author Gary L. Pinkerton at 10 a.m., February 18 in the 1901 Harrison County Courthouse in Marshall. His book, Trammel’s Trace: The First Road to Texas from the North, tells the story of the 19th century northeast Texas road. The path of Trammel’s Trace was noted on the earliest survey maps for the Republic of Texas more often in Harrison County than in any of the other counties crossed. In this presentation, Pinkerton will take a look at the route and tell the stories of places along the Trace in Harrison County. The event is free. For more information call the museum at 903-935-8417 Ext. 1.
