MARSHALL- Holly Anderson, 36, is a wife, a mother and the office manager of Puretone Hearing Aid Center in Marshall. A native of Longview, she has lived in Marshall for 16 years, with a short stint in Waskom.

She is also the proud human companion of two “beautiful German Shepherds,” that she got from Roger Garcia, her employer at Puretone Hearing Aid Centers. In 2014, Holly took a brave step, and enrolled in college, Panola College, to pursue her certification as a massage therapist. She received her certification a year later. Holly had been wanting to take the classes ever since her husband went through back surgery. “One of his therapies involved massage,” she said. Holly discovered during her training that she really enjoyed the classes. “I discovered I had a real gift with my hands, and in trying to figure out what is causing the tightness that clients are feeling,” Holly said.

In June 2015, Holly opened her own business. With her clients, she said she has developed many friendships. “I had a client who had knee surgery, and couldn’t walk well. After we did the massage session, she literally ran out of the room. To help someone feel better – not just physically, but emotionally is very satisfying,” she said. Holly does mobile massages, and does most of her sessions in the evenings, as she has a full-time job. “I will do it seven days a week if need be,” she said.

She said, “I will work on anyone from young to seniors. Parents must be present when I have a child client.” Holly is unique in her massage therapy business as one, she does mobile massages, and two, she is very serious about doing the exact thing that her client needs. “I want to address each area of need they may be experiencing,” she said. Holly takes intake forms. To help her clients relax, Holly has set up a room with just the right lighting, comfort and aromas, as well as music.

“I have a subscription to Spotify, and I use Massage Radio, and Yoga Music,” she said. She also does chair massages.

Holly is licensed and certified in many modalities of massage therapy, including Swedish, sports, lymphatic, pre-natal and hot stone therapy.. Benefits of massage, Holly reports, include, “helping sore muscles, relaxes muscles, insomnia, reduces stress and anxiety, improves circulation, boosts immunity, decreases pain and helps regulate blood pressure.”
