MJHS boys track wins Lindale meet


MARSHALL, Texas – The Marshall Junior High School 8th grade boys track team brought home first place at the Lindale Junior High Relays Tuesday night in Lindale, setting four meet records in the process.

The 7th grade boys finished in second place.

In the 8th grade division, Marshall’s James Thomas set a meet record in the 400 meter dash and the triple jump. Daquavion Jackson set a record in the 300 meter hurdles and also won the 110 meter hurdles.

Remon Jones finished first inn the shot put, and Dhravian Redd and Michael Washington finished second and third, respectively, in the discus.

Marshall’s 1600 meter relay team of Dalton Hoskins, Colynn Rodgers, Jyrrean Mapps and James Thomas also finished first. Dhravian Redd, Dominique Williams, Daquavion Jackson and Jyrrean Mapps won second place in the 400 meter relay, as did the 800 meter relay team of Hoskins, Lane Howard, Thomas and Williams.

Several other Mavs finished in the top six of their respective events to add points to Marshall’s winning total.

The MJHS 7th graders finished second overall, led by the 800 meter relay team of Jacorian Perry, Kenneth Calloway, Domar Roberson and Rekavian Ragland with a first place finish. The mile relay team of Ragland, James Perkins, Arshawn Rines and Perry also won second place in their event.

Domar Roberson finished first in the 110 meter hurdles and the triple jump, with Arshawn Rines winning the shot put to go along with a third place finish in the 110 hurdles. James Perkins finished first in the 300 meter hurdles and was third in the 100 meter dash.

Jacorian Perry finished second in the long jump, with Kenneth Calloway finishing sixth. Juan Ramirez was second in the 2400 meter run, and third in the 1600 meter run.

Aldo Olvera finished third in the 800 meter run.
