Marshall Police MVP – Lieutenant John Johnson

Marshall Police Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa has named Lieutenant John Johnson as the department’s latest MVP. On multiple occasions, Lt. Johnson has gone above and beyond the call of duty for Marshall residents. On November 19, Lt. Johnson was one of the responding officers to a call regarding a deceased person. He arrived on the scene to discover Marshall EMS trying to resuscitate the man. Unfortunately, the man was not able to be revived and he was pronounced dead. While waiting for the funeral home to arrive, Lt. Johnson stayed on the scene and consoled family members out of the goodness of his heart. The family recently contacted the Marshall Police Department commending Lt. Johnson for his kindness and professionalism during their time of grief.

On December 3, Lt. Johnson, assisted by two MPD patrolmen, was called to help a stranded motorist. Although it was cold and raining that day, Lt. Johnson helped not only push the woman’s car to a nearby gas station, but also stayed and helped get the car running again.

Chief Campa stated, “Lt. Johnson is a perfect example of what it means to be a police officer. His leadership and ability to show compassion to Marshall residents says a lot about his character. I am extremely proud of the way Lt. Johnson represents our department.”
