As the city of Marshall continues to grow, thanks to I-20 and Hwys 59 and 80 running beside or right through the city, citizens look forward to the addition of businesses, recreation and more restaurants.
In a recent, informal social media discussion about what they would like to see come to the city – a new restaurant or a retail business, Marshall residents varied in opinions.
Even with an odd-number of chicken-focused restaurants in the community – including the newest additions of Chicken Express and Popeye’s, 35 percent of those who were asked the questions would like to see a ‘Chick-Fil-A’ be built in Marshall.
Though one resident agreed, he laughed and said, “Then Marshall really would become the Fried Chicken Capital of Texas.” ( Editor’s Note: He deleted his comment directly after that post.)
Melissa Haynes responded to the question what would you like to see come to the city of Marshall. “Buc-ees – put it on Hwy 59 and I-20. Imagine how many people that it would employ!”
This writer couldn’t agree more with Haynes’ answer, and Tina Brown agreed as well – as her reply to Haynes’ answer was a big “Yes” with several exclamation points.
Jenny Kerr said, “If we are dreaming, why not a Souper Salad?”
Baily Atchley said, “What about a deli like Jason’s or McAlister’s?” Diane Hicks agreed on McAlister’s and mentioned Chick-Fil-A. Bridget Fugler said Chick-Fil-A as well. Robert Farnham voted on Chick-Fil-A too.
Though Laurie Thompson said, Chick-Fil-A, she also added she would like to see as “Salsarita’s.”
What would you like to see come to the city of Marshall? Comments welcome.
