Importance of Print Photography

I was going through my grandma’s box today and I saw a picture from her wedding. The portrait was so captivating. It was in the old black and white format, yet it portrayed the joy of the beautiful moment. I then imagined if the picture wasn’t printed, just taken and moved to social platforms or a cloud storage. That would have been its end.

Taking photographs helps us capture memorable events in our lives, but printing it helps us preserve it. There is more emotion at work being able to touch and hold or walk by printed portraits on a wall.

It makes sense to print your photos, even if not all of them, but those you can’t live without. A professional photographer, like Juays Photography in Marshall, TX, will give you classical shots and make them into an everlasting portrait to be cherished and loved by you and your future generations.

Most of us have phone cameras and feel like we can capture life’s little moments but here are some reasons why you should hire a professional photographer and print the important events in your life.

Quality prints never crash.

Cell phones get lost or stolen or corrupted and hard drives crash. Photo prints won’t be unexpectedly erased without warning. A quality print from a professional photographer is preserved through the ages. A decent photographer will archive all their work and be able to reprint, should you need it.

Prints are never obsolete.

Let’s talk about storage devices.  Vynil records, Cassette tapes, Video tapes, Floppy disks, Stiffy disks, CD’s, DVD’s, Thumb drives, Hard drives and Cloud storages – all means of storage.  Storage devices that you use for storing your photos will one day become obsolete. Can you count how many diskettes, tapes or CDs you’ve saved your images and motion pictures, where are they today?  With a quality print that is well taken by a professional photographer, you would be able to relive the photographic memory even in a future “teleportation age”. Printed portraits will never go out of business. Storing your pictures in the cloud isn’t a bad idea, however, you cannot predict just how long a cloud storage service provider will stay in business. With your framed portraits and prints, that is no worry.

Prints are long lasting

Prints can amazingly last for generations. So much of what we know today is because of photographs that tell the history. Prints have stood the test of time.  If you want to pass on photos of your cherished moments to your great grandchildren, only a print will make such dream possible.

When you spend money on something there is instantly an addition of value to such thing. When you pay for professional photography you are investing money into high quality and long lasting images.

Even Internet pioneer Vint Cerf (Google boss) agrees it is time to start preserving the vast quantities of digital data before they are forever lost. He stated that “We stand to lose a lot of our history. If you think about the quantity of documentation from our daily lives which is captured in digital form, like our interactions by email, people’s tweets, all of the world wide web, then if you wanted to see what was on the web in 1994 you’d have trouble doing that. A lot of the stuff disappears”. “We don’t want our digital lives to fade away. If we want to preserve them the same way we preserve books and so on we need to make sure that the digital objects we create will be rendered far into the future.”

Don’t let your cherished moments fade away with the sands of time. Join the print movement and contact Juays Photography for professional and quality portraits that will last for generations.
