Marshall Police needs help in finding missing person

Teresa Lanette BarnettBy Officer Justin Mills, PIO, Marshall Police

Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa and the Marshall Police Department are seeking the community’s assistance to help solve one of Marshall’s long standing missing person’s cases. MPD is seeking any information related to the current location of Teresa Lanette Barnett, who went missing in August 1987.

On August 7, 1987 Barnett’s husband, Wayne Barnett let Mrs. Barnett out around 10:30 a.m. in the 200 block of East End Blvd N which at the time was the Eckerd Drug Store.

Mr. Barnett stated that he left the vehicle at the store for Mrs. Barnett to return home in.

When Mrs. Barnett never returned home Mr. Barnett went back to the store and located the vehicle where he left it parked, but he could not locate his wife anywhere in the area.

Mrs. Barnett’s purse was located days later at the intersection of S Washington and Lakeview Dr. South by a jogger.

Barnett was 30 years of age when she went missing.

The Marshall Police Department’s’ Criminal Investigations Bureau has put in many hours on this case, but has yet to come up with the current location of Barnett.  Please contact Lt. Patrick Clayton at 903-935-4546 or 903-935-4575.  If you wish to remain anonymous call Marshall/Harrison County Crime Stoppers at 903-935-9969.
