Marshall Education Foundation awards MISD teachers with $22,766.48 in classroom grants

MARSHALL, Texas – Marshall ISD teachers received over $22,000 in classroom grants from the Marshall Education Foundation during MISD’s annual Convocation Monday held at East Texas Baptist University.

Twenty-one MISD teachers were awarded grants to be used for their classrooms, with the grand total of $22,766.48 handed out among those 21. The Marshall Education Foundation goes through an application process from teachers for the grants, with application forms annually available on the Foundation’s website at www.backthemavs.com.

The stated goal of the grants, according to the MEF website, is to “encourage and support teachers who have great ideas for creative use of curriculum that will provide enhanced learning experiences for students. Mini-grants enable the purchase of special materials and resources for the classroom and are intended to support projects that are not provided for within school budgets or through other means.”
