Texans Urged to Prepare for Hurricane Season Now

AUSTIN – In advance of the 2017 hurricane season, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is urging Texans to begin making plans to protect themselves and their families. Hurricane season begins June 1 and continues through Nov. 30, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott has proclaimed this week, May 7-13, to beHurricane Preparedness Week.  

Law Enforcement Memorial

Marshall Police Department is hosting a Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony honoring fallen officers in the State of Texas during 2016 and 2017. This year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Marshall Visual Arts Center at 12:00 pm. In 1962, President John Kennedy designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

CITY TO SELECT EXTERNAL INTERIM CHIEF OF POLICE

The City of Marshall announces that it will utilize the services of an executive placement firm to fill, on an interim basis, the position of Chief of Police.
